Happy 1st Birthday Lucia!!!

I'll update later today, but wanted to post a pic of the birthday cutie!

Lucia steps 7/23/10

Lucia has been taking "baby" steps this past week, two or three at a time. It was nearly impossible to get her to walk and record at the same time, so I'll have to try again when someone else can hold the camera. But you get the idea... she's nearly bipedal!

Isabelle's gymnastics 7/22/10

After some cold feet and meltdowns yesterday afternoon, Isabelle had her first gymnastics class without a parent last night and did great! She went right into the gym and sat down, paid attention for the most part, and only got scared on the high beam. Thankfully her teacher, Mr. Corey, is fantastic. Note how she has to tell him just when and how she is going to do her roll in the last clip. She's a trip.

Chow Hound

We had some friends over for cookouts over the 4th and Lucia was just fine with that. She enjoyed checking out the fridge while I unloaded the groceries, and has found a new best (teething) friend with corn on the cob.

Both girls had been out of sorts for a few days and I realized only *after* we'd had four other kids over that they both had hand, foot, and mouth disease (no, not hoof and mouth). Basically they both had pimply bumps on their feet/hands and ulcers in their mouths. Lucia's was painful enough that she went on a nursing strike... and now I believe she's weaned! I was really not ready for that at all, especially cold turkey, but she wants nothing to do with the boob anymore, so I guess we're done! As these pictures illustrate, she has no shortage of interest in other sources of sustenance. ; )

Crazy Hair Day!

During the summer, Isabelle's preschool runs a camp, complete with theme weeks and days. Crazy hair day was at the end of June... I was bummed that Isabelle didn't win - especially after the effort we went to to get this done on a school morning the same day as we were leaving for PA!

(Note that it was NOT crazy outfit day, but I think Isabelle missed that memo. Lucia was sad she had to stay home and take a nap.)
