Happy Birthday Aunt Kate!

Can't wait to see Aunt Kate, Uncle Nesto, and Gigi tomorrow!  (Just hoping we're all feeling better by then so we don't give Aunt Kate a nasty cold for her birthday!)  Welcome to the 30s Aunt Kate!

Avocados!

Lucia has had her first avocados this week - yum!

Belle's latest sartorial feat...

...wearing 10 pairs of underwear all at once!  (Along with some snazzy gold ladybug sandals.)

(She comes up with these things herself, honestly!)

Visit from Giddu

What a nice treat to have Giddu visiting for a week, especially since we didn't get to see him for Christmas this year!

Christmas 2009

Finally posting some pics from Christmas fun! Featuring snow, Gigi, Dodi, Gramma, Sittu, Lilly, Uncle Soupy, and all the cousins!

Order in the court, the monkey wants to speak!

No smiling, no laughing, no showing your teeth!
I challenge you *not* to smile while listening to this.

(Sorry it's so long... haven't figured out editing software yet.)

Get well soon Sittu!!

We're sending our love from NC and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Play time!

Lucia is doing a great job sitting up on her own these days, which makes life a little easier for all of us!  She is also cutting her two bottom teeth; neither is fully visible yet, but I (and she) can feel them.  I don't want to jinx the progress we're making on sleep, so I'm not going to comment beyond that!

Dance class

Flashdance anyone?: The 80's leotard makes a kiddie-sized comeback.

Last night I was cleaning up in the kitchen after dinner and heard the kind of quiet that requires investigation. When I went into the family room, this is what I found.

Translation of the video for those less familiar with Isabelle-ese:

"My people came. Just sit down now. You sittin' down, you sittin' down...I'm not sittin' down...No...I'm just...Who I am? I'm Aunt Jess. I'm not a student. I didn't bring Uncle Nesto. He's right here. He's sittin' down. Now let's stand up to dance... dance 'cause they singing right now... Como estas, como estas... (singing continues, but that's all I could identify)... I not a student, you a student. Mama is a student.... I need to go potty."

This was the second night in a row that we've had a 20+ minute dance performance. We find it highly entertaining, as does Lucia. My only concern is that Lucia will now consider this her baseline for "normal" behavior!

(Stills included below in case you can't get the full splendor of the outfit from the video.)
