Backyard buddy (?)

The dogs were going crazy in the backyard and looked like they had something cornered. Hoping it wasn't another 'possum, I went out to calm them down. Check out this guy...! A nice little copperhead, about 3 feet long I'd guess. He was shaking his tail at the dogs and staring them down, but thankfully didn't strike (at least I don't think so). Got my camera to document so I could compare pics to the web and ID him! Pretty sure it's a copperhead, but happy to hear from any herpetologists in the crowd.

8 weeks old

The difference in seasons between the two girls is beginning to catch up with us in terms of Lucia's wardrobe, so I had to try on all of Belle's cute summer things to see what might fit before it turns fall around here. Auntie Kate got Belle this dress when Isabelle was about 4 months old... still a bit too big, but cute!

This last pic is a goofball one... but mostly to show off Lucia's beautiful blue eyes!

So you think you can surf...

Apparently Jay can! Bob lent him his surf board for an hour, with the detailed instructions, "You just ride it," and Jay managed to catch a few waves.

7 weeks old

Lucia continues to grow and delight... her little smiles and blue eyes are adorable (if I do say so).

6 weeks old

We were at the beach for Lucia's 6 week birthday last week... the sea air seemed to help with her acne and must have pleased her because she has started smiling! I weighed her today and she was 12 pounds 6 ounces! Her little thighs are chunky enough to wear FuzziBunz now. We'll hope to have more pics next week after we spend some time with the papparazza (Auntie Kate).

To me, Lucia continues to look less and less like Isabelle did. Her eyes are an amazing blue right now... maybe they'll stay that way!

5 weeks old

Lucia is 5 weeks old today and 10 pounds 13 ounces. She also has quite a case of baby acne, that you can see in some of these pics, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all (my picture-taking is much more annoying).
