Chub in a tub...

...well, actually a sink.

This week Lucia participated in her first study at the Duke Language Development Lab. As I understand it, she listened to Mandarin music with varying one- and two-syllable sounds while the researcher tracked her expression/eye movement to see if she was distinguishing between the two. (For more details, you'd have to ask Jay!)

Hello Santa!

What a difference a year makes! Isabelle was completely fine with Santa this year, and helped her little sis. There were a few other shots where one or the other was looking/smiling, but I liked this the best. I almost want to crop Santa out of this pic because the girls are having such a sweet moment and he's kinda goofy, but Jay tells me that would defeat the purpose of having a picture taken with Santa.

4 month stats

Our little butterball had her 4 month appointment today. 17 pounds 1 ounce (>97th %), 24 1/4 inches (73rd %), and 50th % for head size. She's a healthy and happy bambina!
